Abstract: By combining gas chromatography and mass spectrometry we have identified the main constituents of the essential oil of verbena tea (Alyosia triphylla) grown in Morocco. Harvests carried out at different stages of development of the plant allowed to characterize the qualitative variations of the active substances of the essential oil. The comparison of our results with the data of the literature gives some details on the different chemo types and the chemical diversity of this aromatic plant with high medicinal and economic value.
